    Abstract

This deliverable reports on task 6.1.: Use practices, privacy issues and scenarios for Media ID. D6.1 is divided into two parts:
? Part 1: An explorative qualitative user study1
? Part 2: Scenario description and social requirements analysis
In part one, we report on a first explorative user study consisting of qualitative research, consisting of four focus group interviews with both experts and users. More specific, this first research phase focused on the user attitudes and expectations towards privacy, identity management and personalization/profiling. First user perceptions and expectations towards Media ID in its most basic user scenario (as a single sign on) were also investigated.
An aim of task 6.1 was the development of a variety of Media ID scenarios. As WP2 already developed future Media ID scenarios to describe the possible revenue and cost models of Media ID (WP2-?D2.2), we will built further upon these scenarios and assess the probability of these future Media ID scenarios from the user point of view. Within the second part of D6.1, based upon the user research, we try to define the preconditions for user adoption within these scenarios. To conclude, we define the Media ID user requirements, or requirements that describe the needs of users with regard to Media ID.
