Où va Bruxelles? Waarheen met Brussel?

The aim of the study is to write a territorial future vision for Brussels till 2020, to make a state
of the art of the agenda of urban development in/for Brussels and to serve as a staring point
for a scenario futures research. The first part of the study is to collect and list the existing
studies and reports on Brussels, done by different institutions, governments, universities,...
These will be analysed and synthesised in one document and sorted out in themes according
to the output of a conducted survey among the members of the GOC on the weaknesses and
strengthens of the Brussels Region by Eric Corijn. The main debates are about demography,
the build city, the economic entrepreneurial city, the social city, governance and institutions
and sustainable development, density and cultural diversity. This diagnosis will be the
foundation of the next part of the study about building up a future vision and exploring future
scenario's. This will be the start of a participative debate within the members of the
Commission in order to be able set up a task force and come to a final consensus text on the
vision of Brussels
