Abstract

One who plans to make a catalog of a number of musical instruments in a scientificly correct way is confronted with a number of problems that require a certain expertise. One question always comes back: if one does not see what he wants to see, but what is actually not there. The outcomes are often surprising, but certainly always fascinating.
