Optimizing Inputs for Nonlinear Systems with Infinite Memory in the Time Domain

Abstract

Our goal is to obtain a better understanding of what makes an input informative in the case of nonlinear infinite memory systems. However, unlike linear dynamic systems or nonlinear finite memory systems , no global or convex solver is known for this problem. Therefore, a brute force optimization is performed where we optimize the time samples of the input with the help of numerical nonlinear solvers. Three important settings will be considered: the total signal length, the sampling frequency and the initial values of the optimization.
