Abstract
This article presents the state of the art of the Parallel HEVs to give a comprehensive review on their powertrain and power management strategy. In this article, different transmission systems (such as pre-transmission, post-transmission and separated axle) are presented. Furthermore, the hybridization rate of Parallel HEVs is explained in this article. The advantages and the drawbacks of the Parallel HEVs are presented. Moreover, the mechanical coupling is provided.
