Abstract

Dialogue with two other philosophers (Andy Knott & Mathijs van de Sande) on the issue of democracy as government of, by and for the people in the contemporary neoliberal era. The questions addressed are: Who are 'the people'?; How should power be exercised in democracy?; What about the concepts of 'people', 'multitude', 'common'?; Wherein consists political Representation?; What are the theoretical ontological premisses of democratic political thought? The dialogue is conceived as an experimental exercise in rational, ethical political research, and in democratic writing.
