Abstract

A piston compressor containing a housing (8) with a compression chamber (13) in it, having an inlet, and an outlet and a piston (10) arranged movably back and forth in an axial direction (X-X') in the compression chamber (13) between an upper dead point and a lower dead point, delimited by a kinematic mechanism (20) with which the piston (10) is connected, characterized in that the drive is formed exclusively by an electromagnetic linear drive (25) of the piston (10).
