Polarization properties of a uniform Bragg grating in highly birefringent PCF

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding › Conference paper

Abstract

A uniform Bragg grating is inscribed in a hydrogenated highly birefringent germanium-doped photonic crystal fiber using a UV-Agron laser and a phase mask. Polarization dependent loss and differentioal group delay measured in this type of fiber reach unprecedented values. This effect can be linked to the combination of the specific arrangement of the holey structurre which induces a very high birefringence and to the very high reflectivity of the inscribed Bragg grating.
