Reducing taylor dispersion with acoustic streaming

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference paper

Abstract

Taylor dispersion significantly decreases the resolution of analytical separations in rectangular microfluidic channels. Enhancing lateral mass transfer with acoustic streaming can efficiently reduce dispersion of unretained plugs by more than a factor of two. The observations in the present study pave the way towards the development of novel, highly efficient analytical separations and reactors with uniform residence times.
