Abstract
After WWI those who had collaborated with the German occupier in Belgium during 1914 and 1918 en had committed crimes against the State were prosecuted by judicial authorities. Nearly 4800 people were prosecuted in Belgium, 3200 were condemned, although most of them were granted an amnesty afterwards. This article describes the history of this punishment.
