Over the past decades, by introducing alternative energy sources, the trend of using fossil-fuel energy has been changed. In this regard, the automotive industry as one of the largest industries in the world has contributed to this issue remarkably. The Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) through introduced Electric Vehicles (EVs) as green car play an important role to come over the problem. However, new challenges have emerged in the EVs such as lifetime forecasting, failures analysis, safety issues. The safety and reliability concept of EVs’ components are important aspects to show an overall perspective of the system regarding lifetime, service and maintenance and so on. This chapter presents the role of reliability and safety in EVs’ electric components from different points of view. Furthermore, the challenges and future perspective of EVs relating to the safety and reliability have been investigated.
