Abstract
When searching for futureproofed design alternatives, Scenario Developing arouses our interest. Scenarios express how a building might change, taking into account the owners’ requirements as well as the designers’ insight. Subjecting subsequently each alternative to those ‘imaginable futures’ allows to appraise the variability of their life cycle impact. After such an appraisal the most robust alternative can be selected and one can say: “I am prepared for whatever happens,” after the futurist Peter Schwartz.
