State of the Art of Standardization of Wireless Charging System

Research output: Book/ReportCommissioned report

Abstract

This document will present the state of the art of the standardization that should be considered for the wireless charging systems for electric vehicle applications. As can be seen from literature, there is an extensive number of standards focused on electric vehicles (EVs), their relationships to the infrastructures and to their users. These standards can be classified as follows:
o International Standards such as IEC, ISO and ITU
o European Standards such as CENELEC and CEN
o National Standards such as DKE , DIN, IJARI and SAE
This deliverable will review the ongoing standard developments in the wireless power transfer (WPT) for clean vehicles applications. Furthermore, this document will also address different issues such as safety, electromagnetic fields, communications and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), which should be considered on the particular case of the wireless charging systems developed within the activities of the unplugged project.
