Abstract

The focus of the TensiNet Symposium 2010 will be the adaptability of structural systems with tensioned surfaces for various service conditions and their ability to impart a new appearance to existing buildings or to enclose them in a common volume. Within the main topics key themes will be modular assembled and dismanteled tension structures with textile membranes (or foils) for emergency shelter, protection of architectural monuments, as well as those reconciling different functions by incorporating sound and thermal insulation systems, photovoltaic components etc.
