Abstract

The early reception of Spinoza’s Tractatus Theologico-Politicus has rarely been studied as an instance of political philosophy. This conversation with Luisa Simonutti (ISPF-CNR Milano) explores the early English reception: from the politics of philology to the contrast between Cambridge Platonists and Charles Blount to the Royal Society and tolerance.
