Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

This contribution intends to give an overview of the practice and legal framework of the participation of the European Union (EU) and its Member States in multilateral environmental negotiations after the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty on 1 December 2009. As the Lisbon Treaty significantly changed the European Union’s institutional framework for its engagement in external relations, it took time to operationalize the new institutions, to develop a common understanding and working arrangements under the new provisions and for the Court to get the opportunity to start assessing this practice in the light of the new legal framework.
