Abstract

This article shows that the representation of psychic life (that of the author as well as that of other people) in the work of the Prince de Ligne is strongly influenced by his existential disposition to life in the present time : consesquently, Ligne develops a writing of the present. Nevertheless, the representation of psychic life in Ligne varies also according to the literary genre and to the models and stereotypes of the literary tradition. From this point of view, we have to make the distinction between genres and models belonging to the literary tradition and texts that give more feedom to the writer, such as memoires.
