Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle tests

Abstract

The objective of this research is to subject the plug-in hybrid-electric vehicle Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid to a number of tests as specified in a dedicated test program. Vehicle performance is evaluated and various signals are validated. The tests consist of a part performed in lab conditions on a test bench where quantities like wheel torque, speed, etc. are monitored simultaneously with mainly electric parameters like battery current and voltage among others. Another aspect is an on-road test where the vehicle is monitored while driving a stipulated route on public roads. The results from measured signals, CAN-bus monitoring and observed vehicle specific monitoring system signals are provided in this report.
