Abstract

In (operational) modal analysis the modal parameters of a structure are identified from the response of that structure to (unmeasurable operational) perturbations. A key issue that remains to be solved is the calculation of uncertainty bounds on the estimated modal parameters. The preesent paper fills this gap. The theory is illustrated by means of a simulation and a real measurement example (operational modal analysis of a bridge).
