Abstract

Indirect inguinal hernia containing ovarian tissue is a relatively frequent and well known surgical entity. Recent papers underline the important role of high resolution real-time ultrasonography in the diagnosis of ectopic ovary in inguinal hernia. However, because of the risk of infarction which can lead to sub-fertility ond/or infertility, supplementary information about the vascularization of the herniated ovary is useful. Power doppler ultrasonography can be useful to determinate the vascularisation of the ovary.
