Abstract
This study investigates the impact of various forms of excitation on the performance and losses of a SynRM model designed for in-wheel motor electric vehicle (EV) applications. Sinusoidal voltage excitation and PWM excitation with different switching frequencies are compared.Additionally, a comparison is made between a design with a nominal supply voltage of 800V AC and a design with a nominal supply voltage of 400V AC in terms of performance and losses.
The two models are identical except for the windings.
