The aim of this literature study is to investigate the link between positive emotions and moral development. To achieve this goal, this study first analyses morality through the looking glass of neuroscientific research. As morality is embedded in our brain, context and emotions help to shape it. Moral dilemmas are often caused by conflicts in our dual-process brain. This study will further investigate whether positive emo-tions can influence those moral dilemmas. If so, what does it then mean for our educa-tional system that lacks focus on these positive emotions. Finally, this paper will de-scribe some theories for supporting moral development in adolescents throughout their higher education.
