Application of Pain Neuroscience Education in Chinese Rehabilitation, Q&A session

Activiteit: Talk at a public lecture/debate

Description

I was invited by Dr. Amanda Ferland from UP Clinic Shanghai, to discuss possible ways to apply pain neuroscience education at Chinese physiotherapeutic practice.

UP Clinic Shanghai ( https://www.upclinic.cn/en) is an international orthopaedics and rehabilitation centre, specialized in management of musculoskeletal complaints and sports-related injuries.

In order to make the session interactive, questions from the participants were collected one week before the meeting. According to their questions, I prepared my presentation to discuss the key points of pain neuroscience education applications (e.g., the importance of biopsychosocial intake and cognition-targeted exercise therapy ), based on the current evidence and my clinical experience.

In total, 25 to 30 participants were joined the session. They were physiotherapists, chiropractors and traditional Chinese medicine doctors who are working at the Clinic. The session was held online through ZOOM, lasting for 2 hours.
