šĀ Excited to Share My Participation at SMART 2024!Ā š
I'm delighted to have presented my research paper titledĀ "Efficient and Bidirectional Cascaded Auxiliary Power Module Design for Electric Trucks Using Hybrid Si, SiC, and GaN Technologies"Ā at theĀ 2024 Third International Conference on Sustainable Mobility Applications, Renewables, and Technology (SMART), organized by the Canadian University Dubai from November 22-24, 2024.
This research investigates the efficiency of aĀ single-input, multi-output auxiliary DC/DC power supply for electric trucks, offering a novel solution for electric vehicles equipped with both 12/24V and 48V low-voltage buses. The proposed topology integrates advanced technologies to achieve a peak efficiency of 96% at 10 kW, addressing the diverse auxiliary power requirements of electric trucks. Through high-fidelity co-simulation models, this design highlights the potential for robust and efficient power distribution in next-generation electric vehicles. šā”
The next step, following the validation of this topology, is to develop aĀ digital twin of the auxiliary power moduleĀ using anĀ empirical modeling approach with artificial neural network algorithms. This advanced model will enable the evaluation ofĀ optimum operating strategies under varying loading conditionsĀ for vehicle auxiliary loads, ensuring even greater efficiency and adaptability in real-world scenarios.
I want to extend a special thank you to the NextETRUCK ProjectĀ for funding this research and fostering groundbreaking innovations across multiple research tracks, particularly in the area ofĀ medium-duty electric trucks. This project is a testament to the power of collaboration and forward-thinking, as we explore transformative solutions to advance sustainable mobility and build a greener future. š±š
Special thanks as well to my co-authors,Ā Dr. Sajib Chakraborty andĀ Prof. Omar Hegazy, for their invaluable contributions and guidance throughout this work. I am deeply grateful for the support from the MOBI Electromobility Research Centre and theĀ EPOWER GroupĀ at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) for the incredible facilities and mentorship.
Finally, I extend my gratitude to the Canadian University Dubai for hosting such an outstanding and impactful event.
Letās keep driving sustainable mobility forward! šš
