The Brussels Institute for Social and Population Studies (BRISPO) is an interdisciplinary research centre that investigates the socioeconomic, cultural, and demographic dimensions of social inequality in Belgium, Europe, and beyond. Established in 2024 through the merger of three research groups (Interface Demography, Tempus Omnia Revelat, and Qualitative Research in Action), BRISPO brings together a diverse and multidisciplinary community of senior scholars and early-career researchers. Its members have expertise in sociology, demography, economics, political science, psychology, statistics, human geography, and computational social science. Research at BRISPO is organised into six thematic research units: AI, Migration & Society (AIMS Lab), Childhood, Culture and Cognition (CCC), Inequality and Racism (IR), Interface Demography (ID), Sustainable Work (SW), and Tempus Omnia Revelat (TOR). Together, these units address key social challenges related to demographic change, migration, inequality, work, family, culture, and technological transformation. BRISPO researchers are committed not only to advancing scientific knowledge but also to ensuring that their work contributes to public debate and evidence-based policy development. Through research valorisation and engagement with societal stakeholders, BRISPO aims to provide insights into pressing social challenges in Belgium, Europe, and beyond.
