Het doel van de alliantie-onderzoeksgroep is de studie van de rol van connexine en pannexine signalisatie in gezondheid en ziekte, waarbij de focus bij de VUB groep en het UGent team ligt op, respectievelijke, de lever en het zenuwstelsel.
