" De onderzoekseenheid ABIS doet hoofdzakelijk onderzoek naar: 1. Fundamentele studie van de biochemische en biofysische eigenschappen van de menselijke huid; 2. Objectieve en kwantitatieve evaluatie van een aantal fundamentele eigenschappen van de huid; 3. Objectieve evaluatie van de efficientie van de verschillende dermato-cosmetische ingredienten en dermato-cosmetische behandelingen op de menselijke huid; 4. Het gebruik van hydro-en lipo-oplosbare plantenextracten als werkzame bestanddelen in dermato-cosmetische preparaten gebruikt in de huid zorg; 5. Fundamentele beginselen van in vitro en in vivo percutane absorptie van dermato-cosmetische producten (menselijke en varkenshuid); 6. Het gebruik van iontoforesis in percutane absorptie van vasoactieve producten wanneer toegepast in fysiotherapeutische behandelingen."
