Als patiënt kom je nooit rechtstreeks in contact met de anatomo-patholoog. De anatomo-patholoog ontvangt van de huisarts van de specialist een weefselstuk of vocht (of een wrat, poliep of biopsie). This weefsels and cells are than as usual under the microscoop. De anatomo-patholoog is diagnostic, that hij dan meedeelt aan de huisarts of specialist.
