De afdeling FAFY ontwikkelt hoofdzakelijk onderzoeksactiviteiten in de volgende domeinen: 1. Het gebruik van hepatocyten in cultuur en co-cultuur als model voor toxiciteit- en biotransformatiestudies van xenobiotica: - Evaluatie van het isoenzympatroon van hepatocyten in cultuur en co -cultuur; - Ontgiftingsmechanismen van hepatocyten in culturen en co-culturen; - Biotransformatie en toxiciteit van isobuteen; - Biotransformatie en toxiciteit van anti-epileptische geneesmiddelen. 2. Dermato-cosmetica: - Efficiëntiemetingen van dermato-cosmetische producten; - Evaluatie en normalisatie van nieuwe en bestaande methodologie voor efficiëntiemetingen van dermato-cosmetische producten.
