"MICH doet onderzoek in de volgende gebieden: 1. Fundamenteel onderzoek op het gebied van de replicatiecyclus van het poliovirus, het onderzoek concentreert zich op de eerste stappen van de cyclus (adsorptie, uncoating) en de laatste stap (assemblage); 2. Ontwikkeling van nieuwe poliovaccines (ook biotech-vaccins); 3. Fundamenteel onderzoek op het gebied van antivirale verbindingen (in samenwerking met Janssen Research Foundation); 4. Virussen op de oorsprong van multiple sclerose?; 5. Theiler muizen encephalitis virus (TMEV), een muismodel voor Multiple sclerose."
