Expertise
Anne-Lore Scherrens is a postdoctoral researcher at the End-Of-Life Care Research group (Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Ghent University) and Health Promotion Research Group (Ghent University). She is involved in 1) the EU MyPath project, which goal is to develop and implement innovative digital patient-centred care pathways and 2) the EU PAL COPD project, which goal is to integrate palliative care in the treatment of people with advanced COPD and their family carers. She is also supervising a PhD that focusses on support needs and experiences of adolescents and young adults (AYAs) who are confronted with parental (incurable) cancer.
She obtained her doctoral degree with the doctoral thesis “Using a health promotion approach and behavioral theories to gain insight into factors related to palliative care behaviors among people confronted with serious illness”. She holds a Master's degree in Health Education and Health Promotion and a Bachelor's degree in Pediatric Nursing.
