Fien holds a master's degree in sociology of health and illness, complemented by a bachelor's degree in political science. Currently pursuing a Joint PhD in the Life Sciences at VUB and UGent, she focuses on the EUNAVIGATE project, dedicated to developing a navigation program to support community-dwelling older people with cancer.
