Her work investigates the evolving landscape of data management and database interoperability within the EU, with particular focus on its implications for evidentiary data in justice and e-evidence management systems. By integrating critical data studies, critical archival and information studies, and law, the study critically analyses how interoperability measures, particularly those introduced by Regulation (EU) 2019/818, reshape data governance within the EU's Area of Freedom, Security, and Justice (AFSJ). Despite the EU's push for interoperability across centralised databases, limited attention has been given to its impact on data reliability, authenticity, accessibility, transparency, and accountability in cross-border criminal investigations and legal proceedings.
