Expertise
Paul Erdkamp studeerde geschiedenis aan de Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen, waar hij zijn doctoraat behaalde in 1998. In de jaren erna werkte hij als onderzoeker aan de Universiteit Leiden. Sinds 2007 doceert hij geschiedenis van de klassieke oudheid aan de Vakgroep Geschiedenis van de Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Zijn onderzoek is toegespitst op de Romeinse wereld en meer bepaald op economische, demografische en militaire aspecten.
