Expertise
Ik ben afgestudeerd als Arts aan de VUB in 2003. Bijkomende opleiding tot internist/nefroloog (2011) en Endocrinoloog/Diabetoloog (2015). Post-doctoraal onderzoeker aan de Universiteit van Oxford (UK) van 2011-2013 op gebied van immuuntolerantie.
Momenteel ben ik Kliniekhoofd in de Diabeteskliniek van het UZBrussel met expertise in type 1 en type 2 diabetes en betaceltransplantatie. Ik ben actief betrokken bij translationeel onderzoek in immuuntherapie en celtherapie bij type 1 diabetes. Daarnaast geef ik les in pathofysiologie en ben ik betrokken bij de opleiding van geneesheer specialisten in opleiding.
