Onderzoeksinteresses

Serge Gutwirth (°1960) is was full Professor (‘gewoon hoogleraar’) at the Faculty of Law and Criminology of the VUB, where he studied law, criminology and obtained a post-graduate degree in technology and science studies. He defended his PhD in law on the relationships between law and sciences on December 15, 1992. He has been Vice Dean of the Faculty since from 2012 to 2019, Vice Chair of the VUB’s Research Council from 2002 to 2013, chair of the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies of the Law (Metajuridica -JURI) in 2019 and (co-)chair of the Law Science Technology & Society (LSTS) research group from 2003 to 2019.

He became Emeritus on October 1, 2023 but kept a voluntary research appointment at the VUB (on the commons). See: Gonzalez Fuster & N.
