An annual prize in honour of Sir Michael Palliser (1922–2012), former Chairman of the Council and Vice-President of the IISS. The International Institute for Strategic Studies has established the Palliser Prize for the best essay submitted to Survival on an aspect of European international relations, politics, economics or strategy by an author under the age of 40.
The winner of the 2015 prize will be published in Survival with a special mention of the award. Submissions will be reviewed by the Survival editorial team, and a shortlist will be sent to a jury chosen by the Chairman of the Trustees, Chairman of the Council and Director-General of the IISS.
