Datagedreven epidemiologisch model om de duurzaamheid van ziekenhuiszorg te monitoren.

Projectdetails

!!Description

Mathematical disease models are situated within compartment SIR models. These are used to simulate a disease spread by selecting the parameters by expert knowledge. The selection of such parameters for unknown diseases is difficult such that data driven models become a priority which will estimate the parameters from the data. The challenge is to develop good estimators as during an outbreak only limited observations are available while progression of the disease is intended. Kurt Barbé is an expert in data-driven modelling for medicalapplications. In the royal Belgian statistical society he is well known for real-time processing of data by innovative numerical methods. The statistical core facility ICDS under Kurt Barbé has various collaboratiowith the UZ-B such that he can rely on clinical input from J. De Mey, M. De Ridder (our current SRP consortium) as well as M. Malbrain.
