Samenvatting

This lecture gives an introduction to the technology of mineral polymerisation, or geopolymerisation. This technology, which is not widespread and even not well known, permits the transformation of certain minerals into other useful minerals, at low temperature and energy consumption. The focus will be put on the use as building materials, since this is the application which has received most attention during our research at Free University Brussels (VUB). Jordan has a multitude of very good raw materials for these processes.
