Samenvatting

The theological writings of Kierkegaard's second authorship are under
scrutiny in this article, with special focus on neighbourly love, the nature
of the Christian life and the "proper" imitation of Christ. Kierkegaard's late
writings can been read as theologically controversial, and were criticized by
some the world's leading theologians in the 20th century. Nonetheless, his
theological thought still remains important to the Christian individual as
well as the church in the 21st century, as it confronts the serious task of
becoming and being a Christian.
