Samenvatting
Deployable scissor structures can transform between a compact and an expanded configuration, making them ideal as compact, lightweight and mobile structures of for adding adaptable layers to buildings. By unravelling the mathematical principles behind the angulated scissor unit, a broad spectrum of innovative geometries are uncovered, leading to interesting new architectural applications. A digital design tool is proposed which helps the designer to understand, explore and generate these structures.
