A Low-cost demonstrator for nonlinear system identification

Onderzoeksoutput: Meeting abstract (Book)

Samenvatting

A nonlinear mechanical vibrating demonstrator is introduced in this poster. The system is built from low-cost materials found in general stores. The total price to build the demonstrator is less than 50 euros. A first set of measurements done on the system is shown to analyze its behavior. Applying an input signal with low amplitude shows that the system is almost behaving as a linear time invariant system. However, increasing the amplitude of the input signal introduces nonlinear distortions. The mechanical demonstrator is part of a self-study kit that focuses on introducing (nonlinear) system identification to a wider public.
