Samenvatting
The aim of this study is the real-time monitoring of the different ongoing processes in fresh concrete using Acoustic Emission (AE). Two mixtures are examined: a reference concrete mixture and a concrete mixture containing SuperAbsorbent Polymers (SAPs). A preliminary 3D localization study in fresh concrete is also conducted. The results showed that SAP concrete presents higher frequencies, lower risetime over amplitude values and less AE events than the reference one. The goal is to control the curing of concrete and confirm the final mechanical properties, resulting therefore in more sustainable materials.
