Samenvatting

Semiconductor ring lasers (SRLs) are currently actively investigated because of their possible applications in photonic integrated circuits. Some SRLs exhibit unidirectional operation, such that SRLs could be used in systems for all-optical switching, gating, wavelength-conversion functions, and all-optical memories.
