Samenvatting
This paper delves into the innovative approaches and practical implications of integrating reuse practices in public procurement for architectural projects, drawing inspiration from the project Masui4Ever, undertaken by the non-profit association Zinneke in Brussels. The project aimed to preserve existing buildings, maximize material reuse, and involve Zinneke’s technical crew through co-design and co-execution. As a result, 94% of the building mass was retained, and 12% of the new materials were second-hand. The research investigates to what extent circularity is compatible with public procurement and contextu-alizes success factors, working towards a list of replicable actions originating from Ma-sui4Ever’s procurement approach. The findings offer valuable insights for professionals seeking to implement circular practices in public procurement and architectural reuse.
