Samenvatting

By implementing this pediatric project, the authors
meet the demand of the care providers for
permanently available relevant medical information
in order to be able to offer quality care in
emergency situations.
? While drawing up this exchange program, the
authors took into account the frail balance
between the right to informational privacy for
minors and the professional confidentiality on the
one hand and the right to quality health care on
the other hand.
? The technical and practical feasibility of this
project is described

Because of the analogy in the legislation
concerning processing of medical data
(directive EG 95/46) and the European
projects which are on the way about
interoperability and the development of a
common access control to databanks
containing health data for care providers,
this project can be perfectly implemented
within the European frontiers.
