Samenvatting
This study reveals that the Belgian laws on
patients' rights, more specific the right on
informational privacy and confidentiality, are not
reflected by the paternalistic attitude that Belgian
paediatricians have towards their emancipated
minor patients.
? There are not enough possibilities foreseen to
talk alone to the paediatrician by not offering
systematically a private moment and because the
phenomenon of unaccompanied medical
consultation is not an adopted habit in Belgium.
