Samenvatting
The article examines the role and influence of dedicated corporate social responsibility (CSR) managers in implementing CSR within firms. Subsequent to a pilot-study, comprising five in-depth interviews with CSR managers, primary data were gathered from 107 Belgian and Dutch CSR managers, using an electronic survey. Our findings suggest that a dedicated and accountable CSR manager contributes significantly to the implementation of CSR in firms. Higher CSR manager responsibility, explained by the number of years of job experience, is related to more extensive CSR implementation in terms of a higher number of implemented corporate social actions (CSAs).
