D2.2 – REQUIREMENTS, EXPECTATIONS AND OBJECTIVES FOR EACH DEMO SITE

Samenvatting

This report summarizes the approach for the local energy communities
design used and developed by the RENAISSANCE project. It is a methodology
suitable for the upscaling and replication of local energy communities in
Europe and the world. The structure follows the sequence of the Multi-Actor
Multi-Criteria Analysis. For each step within the Project, the required input,
assessment methods, tools, such as surveys or assessment templates, are
provided. As the first step, the environment where the integrated energy
system is unfolding is analysed entailing technical, environmental, social
and economic data. Then, possible preliminary configurations or so-called
scenarios are developed which serve as input for the social interaction with
the stakeholders at the sites. To guarantee acceptance, stakeholders’
prioritized expectations, needs and wants are taken into consideration
using the MAMCA software. For the technical design of the future system,
the objectives are translated into measurable criteria, based on which key
performance indicators are guiding the optimization of the entire system.
In doing so, specified scenarios that entail information about generation,
transmission and distribution assets, business models, services and revenue
structures can be communicated to the end-users to make sure that the
scenario with the highest social acceptance is implemented. The summary
provided within this report serves as a framework for the RENAISSANCE
project itself, specifically for tasks 2.1, 3.1, and 7.3 and provides a guideline
for the global replication of integrated energy systems.
