Samenvatting

Eline and her school team are putting together a project all about the European Union to enter into the Charlemagne Youth Prize competition. But first, she wants to absorb as much info as they can about the European Union. Eline persuades her grandma and her aunt to join her for a study trip to the European Quarter in Brussels. They get a crash course from staff members who work in the European institutions, and even some European Commissioners drop by to share their insights. They cover everything from how the EU works to its growth over the years, its policies and achievements, and what it is focusing on now. With all this new knowledge, Eline is determined to compete for the Charlemagne Youth Prize.
About the method: This book has 2-euro commemorative coins that most students in the European Union use daily, as a special visual treat. These coins pop up throughout the chapters, adding an extra layer of familiarity to the learning experience and making complex topics of the European Union both engaging and informative.
